WEST BEND -- Thanks to a grant from the West Bend Mutual Insurance, the Washington County Fair Park in West Bend will be constructing a new amphitheater stage.
Tuesday, December 8th the Washington County Board voted to accept the $600,000 donation from West Bend Mutual Insurance.
The new state-of-the-art venue will be named the "Silver Lining Amphitheater."
The stage is part of a plan to upgrade the facilities at Fair Park and attract new talent to the venue.
Construction on the new amphitheater is expected to begin in early spring 2016 and be completed in time for the 2016 Washington County Fair.
"West Bend Mutual Insurance has worked hard over the last century to provide the highest level service to our customers and grow our business, and we think it is important to share our success with the community that has been our company's home for more than 120 years. This donation will create an entertainment venue for local families to enjoy for years to come," said President and CEO of West Bend Mutual Insurance, Kevin Steiner.
The Silver Lining Amphitheater will replace the fair's current amphitheater, which was built in 1999, with a larger 50 x 100 foot stage.
The new amphitheater will be covered, offering protection from the elements for entertainers that will help attract additional high-caliber acts throughout the season.
The new venue will accommodate 1,500 people.
