Tree-killing Emerald Ash Borer discovered in Walworth County

WALWORTH COUNTY -- Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection officials have announced the tree-killing emerald ash borer has been discovered in Walworth County. The EAB has now been discovered in 10 Wisconsin counties, including Brown, Crawford, Kenosha, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Vernon, and Washington.

Officials discovered the EAB in a tree located in the downtown area of Lake Geneva on Monday, June 11th.

The affected counties will be quarantined, meaning hardwood firewood, regardless of tree species, cannot leave the quarantine area.
