MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 17-year-old Jerron Washington of Milwaukee is facing one count of felony murder and one count of first-degree recklessly endangering safety in connection with the shooting death of Nathaniel Jones.
Jones was shot and killed in the basement of residence in the 4700 block of N. 34th Street on Wednesday, August 17th.
According to the criminal complaint, three men entered the residence around 6:40 p.m. Upon entering the residence, Suspect #2 approached Jones, and a struggle between the two broke out over the suspect's gun.
During the struggle, both Suspect #2 and Jones rolled down the stairs, into the basement. At that time, Suspect #1 and Suspect #3 ran down into the basement. While in the basement, a struggle ensued, and Jones sustained a single gunshot wound to the back.
He died at the scene.
According to the criminal complaint, Jones' cousin was also in the residence at the time of the incident. He sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the leg and elbow.
If convicted, Washington could face up to $25,000 in fines and 55 years in prison.
