Shorewood homicide suspect apprehended
SHOREWOOD (WITI) -- Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with the July 16th death of 57-year-old Clarence Charles. Charges against the suspect, who is not being named at this time, are pending.
The Medical Examiner's Office has determined that the death will be ruled a homicide.
Shorewood police found Charles dead inside an apartment on N. Oakland Avenue while responding to a welfare check. Charles was an employee of the Metro Market in Milwaukee.
Although police believe the act was not random, neighbors say they were on edge while a suspect remained at large.
"I feel pretty safe and then to have something happen next door, it was kind of a shock, but I feel safe otherwise," said Mallory Larson.
Authorities continue to search for the victim's missing vehicle which was taken by the suspect. It is a two-door, silver, 2002 Chevy Blazer with license plate number 109-UWE.
