SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- A Sheboygan man has been charged -- accused of writing a bomb threat that was discovered inside the Rockline plant in January of 2014.
19-year-old Justin Jahns of Sheboygan faces one count of bomb scare as party to a crime -- a felony charge.
Sheboygan police officers on January 5th, 2014 were dispatched to the Rockline plant on Maryland Avenue in Sheboygan around 10:30 p.m. for a bomb threat.
Officers were advised by dispatch that a worker at the plant had called, stating that an employee had found a note in a bathroom that said a bomb would go off at midnight.
A criminal complaint filed against Jahns says when officers arrived, employees were being evacuated from the plant.
Police were taken to the bathroom where the threat was discovered, and found it was written on a red adhesive sticker used in the plant, according to the complaint.
The complaint says 98% of the plant's staff was sent home after the bomb threat was discovered -- and the plant operated with a skeleton crew for the rest of the night and into the next morning.
The complaint says Rockline officials assessed the total loss of production time and costs because of the bomb threat to be over $36,000.
The complaint says on January 29th, police received an email from a Rockline official indicating that an On-Site Solutions employee notified Rockline staff that Jahns and another individual were responsible for writing the bomb threat.
The On-Site Solutions employee told another On-Site Solutions employee she had heard Jahns and another individual talking about the bomb threat before it happened, according to the complaint.
Police spoke with the On-Site Solutions employee who identified those responsible for the bomb threat -- and she told police she saw Jahns and the second man involved going back and forth to the bathroom where the bomb threat was located on the night it was found. That woman also told police she was scared and didn't know what to do because the second man had told her they were going to say she paid them to write the bomb threat -- according to the complaint.
Police spoke with a Rockline Operation Support Resource Manager who told police the On-Site Solutions employee had come to her after the bomb threat and told her that Jahns and the second man were responsible for the bomb threat -- saying they were playing a prank to get out of work, according to the complaint.
If convicted of the charge against him, Jahns faces a maximum of three years and six months in prison and/or a maximum of $10,000 in fines.
