TOWN OF NEKIMI (WITI) – Wet grounds are causing some headaches for Country USA campers.
The grounds opened at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23rd -- two hours earlier than scheduled -- because organizers are expecting delays getting campers in the grounds. The early opening does not include festival sites.
Organizers say between 500 and 800 festival sites are too wet for camping.
So far, 100 electrical and 60 VIP sites have been moved.
Organizers warn that groups of more than four sites may be split up because there are no dry locations for large groups.
Drivers of tour buses, large trucks and heavy camping units are also warned that they are likely to get stuck.
Country USA organizers say they are working with local farmers to use their tractors to help pull vehicles in and out of the grounds.
