MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Radio Milwaukee is working on a brand new building, with a very special roof!
The member-supported radio station is renovating a former foundry building in Walker's Point that will serve as the station's new studios and offices.
The renovations include a green roof with plants covering 40% of it.
On Tuesday, August 6th, a crane was used to bring those plants to the top of the building.
When finished, the green roof should lower the building's heating and cooling costs and reduce water runoff.
The space will be more than just environmentally friendly.
"It's a beautiful space. We will do sort of a performance space up here, some acoustical concerts, some cocktail parties perhaps," Mary Louise Mussoline with Radio Milwaukee said.
Radio Milwaukee is hoping to move into the new location in a few weeks, once the renovations are complete.
