MILWAUKEE -- Over 100 people rallied in Milwaukee on Tuesday, July 24th to increase the national minimum wage.
The rally was held Tuesday, which marked the third anniversary of the last time the national minimum wage was raised.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Nikiya Harris and state Rep. Cory Mason were joined by a number of workers who say they are having a hard time making a living on just $7.25 an hour.
"It's very hard to survive off of $7.25 because I cannot pay my bills properly. It's hard to put food on the table. It's hard to keep a shelter over me and my family's head," Erica Brown said.
Some at the rally said they are looking for an increase of around $3, which would make the minimum wage over $10 an hour.
After the rally, people with petitions took public buses across the city to have people sign to have the minimum wage raised.
