MILWAUKEE -- A 50-year-old Milwaukee man is beaten and left for dead -- after being attacked by an angry mob on the city's north side.
James Riggins was beaten on Tuesday near 36th and Locust. He does not understand why. Riggins is often seen with a soda wagon and camera in hand. many just call him "The Picture Man."
On June 19th, Riggins talked about taking picture where there were groups of kids and adults outside. They told him to move on -- which he did.
Some of the young people in that group however, went with Riggins.
"First, I remember one fella ganging up on me and another lady up there grabbing my whole wagon," said Riggins.
Milwaukee police say as many as four adult men punched and kicked Riggins, and left him lying in the street.
Riggins has several broken bones in his face -- and multiple stitches in his head. His family is offering a reward to find the people responsible for the attack.
Riggins' family worries about the impact the attack will have on his epileptic seizures. James himself is worried he won't be making new friends or taking any new pictures for awhile, as he's worried about leaving the house. He said, "It's no problem with old picture friends I've had in the past, but that... it sounds like I can't make more new picture friends."
There were many witnesses to the incident, if you have any information that leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a reward. Call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.
