TOWN OF LOMIRA (WITI) -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say a three-year-old child was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life on Tuesday, June 24th after he was run over by a riding lawnmower.
It happened just after 2:00 p.m. in the Town of Lomira.
Sheriff's officials say initial reports indicate the child ran towards the lawnmower, unbeknownst to the lawnmower's operator -- as he was making a backing maneuver.
The child suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life.
His condition is unknown.
“The accident is not suspicious in nature, and our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the young child and family," Dodge County Sheriff Patricia Ninmann said.
