Burn victims enjoy their own summer camp
EAST TROY (WITI) -- More than five dozen burn survivors, all children, from all over the state enjoyed a special day in East Troy on Thursday, August 15th. It was parade day at the 19th annual Summer Camp for Youths with Burn Injuries.
The survivors at the camp range in age from seven to 17.
On Thursday, they were joined by their families, firefighters and medical professionals. They children got the chance to ride along on one of the fire trucks.
Family members say it's a great way for the kids to make friends -- and cope with their injuries.
The burn camp is free to all campers thanks to a number of donations and sponsorships.
