TEXAS -- We all know hot cars are a dangerous place for kids to be. But children are still being forgotten in parked cars way too often.
Now, there's an app for that.
Cathy Waddle, who owns an East Dallas barber shop, co-created the "Crybaby Alarm App."
"It's a free app to download," Waddle told NewsFix. "And it's going to save many babies' lives."
Here's how it works:
Before you leave for a drive with your kids on board, you open the app and tell it how long you'll be driving. Then, when you arrive, the sound of a crying baby will remind you not to leave your baby in the back seat.
The app also has a scheduling feature, and a GPS locator in case you need to call 911.
It'll be available soon for iPhone, and Waddle says she's looking for help developing it for other operating systems.
"Parents, grandparents, nannies, anyone who has a baby -- I want this app to become your lifestyle baby app," Waddle said.
