MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say a 19-year-old man was shot and injured near 14th and Vogel on Wednesday evening, April 23rd when he went to the area to purchase ammunition from a seller he met online.
It happened just before 6:30 p.m.
Police say when the seller arrived, he pointed a gun at the victim, and demanded money.
The victim fled on foot -- at which time police say the seller fired shots -- striking the victim.
The victim was able to run home -- where he called for police and medical attention.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, but he's expected to survive.
Milwaukee police are again reminding people to make these types of transactions at their neighborhood police stations.
Police say any seller who wants to meet a prospective buyer on the street and not in a public space should be looked at as a suspect.
