Hartford police seek suspect in possible child enticement case involving 14-year-old girl

HARTFORD -- Hartford police are seeking a suspect in connection with a possible child enticement incident that happened on Monday morning, May 16th,

"I hope they catch him," Katie Schilling said.

Friends on Monday, May 16th were relieved they were able to wrap their arms around 14-year-old Schilling after an incident Monday morning.

Police say around 7:30 a.m, the Hartford eighth grader was getting her backpack from a friend's garage on Pleasant Avenue near East Avenue when an older, small, red, four-door vehicle with tinted windows, oval headlights and a black mark on the driver's side front quarter panel pulled into the driveway fast.

"This guy pulled up really, really fast and he was like -- he hopped out of his car and he was like 'come here' and I was  like 'no,' and I just took off running behind the house and I laid on the ground," Schilling said.

Schilling said she heard yelling as she hid in the backyard and waited for the man to leave.

"I just stood there and I just cried. I was afraid that he was gonna come after me and I didn`t know if he had a gun or anything," Schilling said.

Schilling's friend was a block away, waiting for her at the bus stop.

"She said there was some weird car bugging her and I said 'don`t move. I`m coming to get you right now,'" Robin Theissen said, Schilling's mother said.

The parents of Schilling and Carly say there has been a man harassing the girls in Instagram recently -- asking them questions like "are you single?" They have blocked him a few times, but they say he creates new profiles. It's unclear whether he was involved in this incident, but they are warning other parents to be cautious.

"I made sure I put it on Facebook. I called my friends -- whatever I could to make sure they catch this guy because a lot of these guys get away and then it is too late," Sara Kaczor, Carly's mom said.

The driver is described as a man in his 20s, standing 5'9" tall with a medium build. He had on oval prescription glasses, and was wearing a dark jacket, brown work boots and a white collared shirt underneath his jacket.

He has light brown hair that is short on the sides and longer in the front.

He had a couple days worth of facial hair.

Schilling believes the front license plate began with the letter "R."
