GERMANTOWN -- The Village of Germantown has issued a lawn-watering ban as of Monday, July 9th, until further notice.
The Village of Germantown Department of Public Works is asking residents to avoid watering lawns. Residents can continue to water trees and gardens and wash vehicles.
Officials say last week and during the past weekend, the Village Water Utility experienced increasing demands on the water supply, and all wells are currently running 18 hours per day to allow sufficient time for aquifer recharge.
Officials say during the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. the Water Utility cannot keep up with demand.
Anyone with questions is urged to contact the Germantown Department of Public Works at (262) 250-4721.
