PORT WASHINGTON (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned a 43-year-old man, accused of driving drunk and slamming his truck into a home in Port Washington on Tuesday night, April 22nd has been released from the hospital, and was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
The crash happened just after 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Port Washington police tell FOX6 News the truck that slammed into the house was headed northbound on N. Spring Street when it struck a parked car facing southbound.
The truck then crossed back over the center line and struck the house on the southeast corner of Melin St. and Spring St.
The truck's driver was initially transported to Aurora Hospital, and was eventually taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert.
Upon his release from the hospital, the man was arrested on suspicion of OWI.
Additionally, Port Washington police say the man was cited for operating a vehicle left of center, and unsafe lane deviation.
If he is indeed charged with OWI, it would be this man's third offense.
The case has been referred to the Ozaukee County District Attorney's Office.
Toxicology reports on the driver are pending.
Two children were inside the home that was struck at the time — but they were not injured.
The family was, however, displaced from their home on the night of the crash.
