Dashcam captures chaotic moments of Kenosha dog attack
KENOSHA -- Chilling dashcam video shows a brutal dog attack in Kenosha. The attack ended with both the dog and his victim being shot. For the first time, we are seeing how the events after the attack played out and how quickly the situation went from calm to chaotic.
'Tank' the bulldog
August 19th, officers pulled up to the scene near 76th Street and 19th Avenue, after 911 calls for help in an apparent dog attack. Witnesses told police that Tank the dog got loose and attacked a woman earlier that day.
In the video, authorities attempt to coax the canine into a squad, but as officers put a leash on the English bulldog...
"Don't let him off that leash," a person shouts in the dashcam video.
But Tank got loose and then attacked another woman. At that point, an officer ended up shooting the dog and the woman was also hit by the bullet. Seconds later, more gunshots echoed on the Kenosha block, eventually killing the dog.
Officers tended to the woman who was accidentally hit, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
It was a dog's rampage that ended on a Kenosha block and left neighbors shaken.
Police also used a taser on the dog to try and subdue him before shooting.
Meantime, this attack wasn't the first for Tank -- records show the bulldog attacked a 6th grader in February.
