MILWAUKEE -- Clean-up was underway early on the Fourth of July along Milwaukee's lakefront -- where thousands of people gathered to watch the U.S. Bank Fireworks show Tuesday night.
The U.S. Bank Fireworks show is the largest in the Midwest. Thousands of people showed up at Veterans Park to watch the show -- some days in advance. The big crowds meant a lot of trash left behind.
The clean-up process began as soon as the show ended. As much as 200 tons of garbage is left behind each year. It's all picked up during an eight-hour shift.
People say they look forward to watching the annual U.S. Bank Fireworks show every year and Tuesday night's show didn't disappoint.
"It brought me back to being a little kid again, for real. I was looking at them and I was looking at the little kids and I was like, 'Man, I remember what it used to be like being that age and looking at the fireworks.' It was an amazing show," said Jonathan Johnson.
