County Board Chairwoman puts focus on Milwaukee County's green projects at "Sustainability Summit"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic is putting a focus on green projects the county is involved with.

She spoke Thursday, March 5th at the "Sustainability Summit" in Milwaukee -- talking about the county now having an environmental sustainability director, and taking part in projects such as green roofs, and upgrades to public transportation.

She says there is one green project that could change Milwaukee County.

"I'm really excited about our solar farm at Mitchell International Airport. This month, we're getting a feasibility report that is going to show us hopefully that we will be able to move forward and create green jobs and clean energy so that's one that really stands out," Dimitrijevic said.

Dimitrijevic says in the end, all the environmental changes are helping save money for Milwaukee County and taxpayers.
