MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has released the identity of a body found in the Milwaukee River on Friday, September 6th.
The Medical Examiner's Office says the body was that of 52-year-old Robert Hewitt of Kansas City, Missouri.
The Medical Examiner's report in the case says Hewitt was found floating in the Milwaukee River, clad in Harley-Davidson clothing.
The body was discovered Friday, by a boater traveling north near the Water Street bridge.
The Medical Examiner's Office says Hewitt was last known to be alive on August 30th, when he was released from the Milwaukee County Jail.
Hewitt was arrested on August 29th on N. Murray Street, after he was found with a stolen laptop, according to the Medical Examiner's report.
The Medical Examiner's report indicates there was evidence to suggest Hewitt may have attended the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration in Milwaukee.
When the Medical Examiner spoke with an uncle of Hewitt, it was determined that Hewitt was homeless, and had not been living in Kansas City.
