BAYSIDE -- A bank robbery suspect who was arrested Saturday morning, May 12th after trying to rob a U.S. Bank branch on Brown Deer Rd. appears to be the same person wanted in connection with a Mequon bank robbery Friday, May 11th.
When Bayside police responded to a call of a bank robbery around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, they immediately sent out a description of the vehicle involved in the crime.
A short time later, Glendale police saw a vehicle matching the description heading southbound on I-43 from Hampton Ave. Those officers were able to stop the vehicle on Green Bay Rd. and Capitol Dr. after the car exited the freeway.
Glendale and Milwaukee police arrested the suspect without incident. They recovered all the money stolen from the bank as well as a mask and other clothing used in the robbery.
