HOWARDS GROVE (WITI) -- A 68-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop on Thursday, September 5th around 7:00 p.m. and charged with his sixth OWI.
Arnold Nemecek
According to the criminal complaint, Arnold Nemecek was stopped after another driver reported he was driving all over the road. The driver followed Nemecek and updated officers on his location until he could be pulled over.
Nemecek was stopped by a Sheboygan County deputy. The man got out of his vehicle as the deputy was approaching. The deputy noticed that Nemecek had trouble standing and smelled of alcohol. Nemecek told authorities he had left Town and Country after having "a couple of beers."
Nemecek was arrested by the deputy after failing a field sobriety test. A search warrant was obtained by District Attorney Joe DeCecco for the suspect's blood draw. The sample is currently being analyzed at the State Crime Lab.
Nemecek has been convicted of five previous OWIs including two in 1990 and three in 2009.
If convicted again, Nemecek faces up to $10,000 in fines and up to six years in prison.
