$500 reward offered for information in arrow incident

FOND DU LAC CO. -- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $500 reward for information that could help them determine who's responsible for injuring a young Campbellsport girl.

Seven-year-old Aryanna Schneeberg was struck in the back by an arrow while in front of her home on Main St. on Sunday evening, May 20th.

Sheriff Mick Fink said Wednesday, May 23rd, the bow and arrows of a neighbor have been sent to the state crime lab for analysis after the man consented to a search of his property. Fink said investigators need to know who fired the arrow, but at this point they don't.

Doctors at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin removed the arrow from Aryanna. It had pierced her back and multiple organs including her lung, diaphragm, stomach and spleen.

As of Tuesday, May 22nd, Aryanna was walking and talking and going to the bathroom on her own, but there’s still a long recovery ahead. Aryanna’s mom says the little girl will likely be in the hospital at least another week.

"We are treating it right now as a stray arrow theory. The reward is in hopes of gathering more information to bring it to successful resolution, whether or not it was accidental or intentional, which would lead to some criminal charges," Fond du Lac County Police Chief Mick Fink said Wednesday.
