CLEVELAND (WITI) -- A 2-year-old boy fell into the cheetah exhibit at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Saturday, April 11th.
According to WJW, the 2-year-old boy was removed from the exhibit and transported to the hospital. Officials say he fell between 10 and 12 feet.
According to zoo officials, the cheetahs never made an attempt to interact with the young boy.
WJW reports that the zoo is reporting the boy is suffering from a leg injury and they believe he was being dangled before he fell into the exhibit.
The Cleveland MetroParks Zoo has served summons and plans to file charges on Monday against the 2-year-old's parents for child endangering.
The boy is currently in stable condition.
The exhibit has since been closed since the incident.
