MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Bucks match-up against the Toronto Raptors at the BMO Harris Bradley Center was called off just six minutes into the game on Friday evening, October 25th.
NBA referee Dan Crawford called the game with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter after several players slipped and fell on what seemed to be a wet floor. The playing surface was deemed too dangerous to continue playing on.
"There was no condensation on the floor. None whatsoever," said Crawford. "We kept making eye contact out there and we saw the players were having issues with traction. Then when we had a few guys go down, we figured we should have a conference, and both teams wanted not to continue the game."
The preseason game was also a fundraiser for the MACC Fund. Despite the cancellation, the Bucks announced that the team will honor its donation commitment to the organization.
Although the evening was cut short, boos were quickly turned to cheers as the Bucks offered those in attendance a free regular season ticket to any home game in November.
The Bucks led the Raptors 14-9 when the game was stopped.
