The Health Department and the hotel are in touch with those affected and are interviewing them and monitoring their condition. Investigators are not confirming what caused people to get sick. General Manager of the Hotel Nancy Richards says it could have been the Noro virus, an intestinal illness that is mostly transmitted by swallowing food or water that has been contaminated with stool from the infected person.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says infected persons usually recover in 2-3 days without serious long term health effects. It has not been confirmed that the Noro virus is responsible.
