WITI-TV, MILWAUKEE - An aggressive, multi-state, coordinated approach leads to drug charges against 17 people. The suspects are accused of being a part of an extensive drug distribution ring. Some of those in custody are from Milwaukee.

A 66-page criminal complaint details drugs coming from Mexico and Texas and then being moved to other states, including Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

The complaint also describes one way money was made from the sale of the drugs laundered -- by going to a casino where suspects could change all the 20s and 10s into nothing but 100s for bank deposits.

16 of the 17 suspects were arrested Tuesday, including Milwaukee's Ruben Gaona, a former member of the Navy who is identified as the ring's main Milwaukee distributor.
