WITI-TV, GLENDALE - One of the stars of the Chicago Auto Show came to Milwaukee, but not to the Big Milwaukee Auto Show. Ford brought its new all-electric truck to Johnson Controls, and the engineers who designed the battery that made it possible.

The truck is called the Transit Connect. It's not a hybrid, it's all electric. The engineers who made it possible got a chance to look it over. Johnson Controls Rep Dave Berg says, "First and foremost this is a celebration and a thank you to all of our engineers, technicians, and JSC employees who worked so hard to get his vehicle ready."

The truck was brought to Johnson Controls Glendale Headquarters from the Chicago Auto Show, where it was unveiled to the world. More than two dozen Johnson Controls employees got their first chance to see the finished product. Berg says, "The team we celebrated and brought up here were the guys who directly worked on it."

Engineer Craig Honish says, "I've been here about a year and a half and this project, I think started in August.". Now a half year later there's a finished vehicle in the company's lobby.

The Transit Connect will be Ford's first all electric vehicle in the United States, and Johnson Controls is very proud of the team that made it happen. The new model should be ready for the 2012 model year.
