WITI-TV, SOUTH MILWAUKEE -
The City of South Milwaukee is trying to bounce back after a water main break near its water tower. Because of contamination concerns, residents couldn't drink, cook with or bathe in the water. The contamination concern also affected businesses like bars and restaurants. Most of them had to close Friday night, one of the busiest nights for restaurants.
The Chamber of Commerce and South Milwaukee Downtown Market have declared Thursday and Friday "Fresh Water Days" in the city. Many businesses will offer meal or drink specials.
Customers will also be able to enter to win a gift card to use at the South Milwaukee Farmer's Market this summer.
