WITI-TV, MILWAUKEE - Despite the cold temperatures some people have no choice, but to be out in the cold to work. So how do they cope when the mercury drops?

Lakisha golden is a car hop at Sonic in West Milwaukee. She's in and out of the cold countless times an hour for her being prepared means wearing three shirts, a sweatshirt, special Sonic gloves, and the Sonic t-shirt.

One thing you won't see when conditions get extreme are car hopes in skates. Golden said, "Some days they may want us on skate, but you have to consider the salt and the ice that's gonna be on the ground."

Pick N' Save Cart Collector Daniel Knippel has his own method of staying warm in the cold. He says, "A couple of shirts, a hoodie and then a nice warm coat and gloves, earmuff are really important, but mostly the shoes you gotta have a nice pair of water proof boots when it snows." Knippel believes the biggest key to staying warm while working is to move as quickly as possible.
