The founder of After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD) has passed away. Melodie Wilson who died November 9, 2009, was recently honored with at the Silver Circle Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Wilson has a long, successful career in broadcasting. She began her career at the Mesabi Daily News near Duluth, Minn. She also worked at WDIO-TV in Duluth before moving to Milwaukee. After a stint at WTMJ, Wilson came to FOX 6 in 1992. Viewers then followed Wilson's progress through her battle with breast cancer.
After leaving FOX6 Wilson, founded After Breast Cancer Diagnosis. For a decade she and ABCD have helped thousands of people with one on one personal and emotional support and help for families.
The cancer spread to Wilson's brain, and it was winning. Melodie Wilson may have passed on, but she certainly won't be forgotten.
