WITI-TV, MILWAUKEE - The cold wind over the past couple of days probably made you reach for a warm coat, but there are a lot of kids in the area who don't have a warm coat. FOX 6 Gus Gnorski explains the Salvation Army is trying to keep those kids warm, with the help of some special partners, including Condella's Coats for Kids.

The folks at the Salvation Army know how important a warm winter coat can be especially for little kids. They are in the business of helping people, and have sen a big increase in business. Faithe Colas from the Salvation Army says, "They need to stay warm. We have rough winters in Milwaukee and Wisconsin and so we need to be able to have coats for our middle school kids as well as our high school kids."

The Salvation Army says they expect the demand for warm coats this year to double as well. Colas says, "We've most appreciative of those folks that do share slightly used coats with us, but the folks that need the coats are very grateful for the condition of the coats."

Coats donated to Condella's Coats for Kids help supply Salvation Army's Distribution Center, and it's done with the help of special partners.

The cleaned coats will be distributed with the help of Milwaukee Public Schools, as well as through the Salvation Army's various programs.
