WITI-TV, MUKWONAGO - It's been a tough time for the auto industry, but there's an upside for on local dealer. General Motors planned to yank the affiliation at Horter Chevrolet in Mukwonago.

Horter Chevrolet has been in the car business more than 80-years, and now is a well recognized dealership in Mukwonago. Like many GM dealerships across the country, they were told their franchise days with GM were numbered.

Dealership Owner Tom Horter said, "It was a heart wrenching day for all of us. I think it was one of the worst days in my life."

Horter's fate took an unexpected turn, when he got a call from GM saying they would like to renew their partnership.

Horter says he doesn't know why GM reversed their decision to close his dealership, but he credits Republican Congressman Paul Ryan and other lawmakers for their support.

While other dealerships weren't as lucky as Horter Chevrolet, Tom Horter says he's just grateful for the chance to role up his sleeves.
