WITI-TV, KENOSHA -
Police are seeking a charge of first-degree reckless homicide against a man in the death of a Kenosha teacher who was punched outside a bar Feb. 21.
Police said 24-year-old Colin Byars tried to stop some men from harassing his female friends outside Big Shotz Sports Bar and Lounge in Kenosha. A man punched him in the face, and when he fell, his head hit the pavement. He died later at a hospital.
Kenosha police said Tuesday the investigation of a suspect vehicle led to the Racine residence where a 20-year-old man was picked up on an outstanding warrant.
Police are recommending the reckless homicide charge, which carries up to 60 years in prison. A 19-year-old man who was with him turned himself in Tuesday. An 18-year-old is being sought.
