Protect your car in stormy weather
If you're in your car when a hail storm hits, here are a few ways you can minimize damage to yourself and your car. If you can safely pull over into a covered area, such as an overpass or parking structure, you'll be able to keep vehicle damage to a minimum. Angle your car so the hail hits the front of your car. Windshields are reinforced, but side and rear windows are not. If you have a blanket, cover yourself to prevent broken glass from hitting you.

If you're at home without a garage for shelter, wrap your car in heavy blankets for protection.
