The Season 2 Savings Challenge ended June 10 with the announcement of the winning family at the Celebration dinner. Traci Kouhel and her two sons, Zak & Adam took away the $10,000 grand prize. The other families competing along with the Kouhels received $2,500. Congratulations to all our families!
Educators' goal is to again help six families/individuals significantly improve their financial situation over the course of this nine-month challenge. The family meeting or exceeding its established goals by the most (along with other criteria) will be declared the winner of the $10,000 first place prize!
We have interviewed and selected our new group of families for Season 3. Read more about them just below. They were chosen based on need, desire and willingness to participate. The families will start work with Educators financial coaches in September. The coaches will provide resources and tips to develop a budget and strategies to help accomplish financial goals.
Watch as our new families share their personal experience in the Savings Challenge. You'll see the good, the bad and the ugly via monthly video diaries and blog entries. You'll also find weekly tips about financial matters plus other helpful information. New this year... a group of "at home" players will also be blogging and sharing their experiences online on our new Savings Challenge website (coming September 1!).
It's too late to apply for this year's Challenge, but you can play along at home. You'll be able to improve your financial situation right from the comfort of your own home AND a chance to win some great prizes! Watch our website in September for information about Season 3's at-home version.
