News

 News Content Manager. OK, it's not the grooviest title, but these days, being a manager in a newsroom is about more than Producing or Reporting or Television! It IS all of those things of course, but it's also about the importance of compelling local stories, and figuring out the best way to get them done throughout the day and night. It's about working in a multi-media world with on-air, mobile, online and whatever comes next. It's about being a leader, inspiring people to do their best every single day - and holding people accountable when they don't meet expectations. It's about LOVING the news business!

We've got a longtime manager leaving and while he's literally irreplaceable, this is a rare opportunity for someone to come in with fresh ideas, insights and skill sets. We're not giving this position a specific title until we find the right person, when we will know what the title should be. You must have at least 5 years of news management experience and you must get excited about producing, about reporting, about storytelling, about creating compelling content across multiple platforms. Excellent communication and great time management skills, a strong can-do attitude with a commitment to teamwork are all vital for success in this role. And don't forget the obligatory assisting the VP/News with budgets, hiring, reviews, etc. etc. etc. The hours are long, the work challenging, but that's why we got into this biz to begin with, right? So in essence, we're looking for a long-term player committed to the growth, care and feeding of Fox 6 News.

Anchor. FOX6 News is seeking the next great multimedia journalist to join our team. We're looking for an individual who brings drive, energy, poise, presence and an endless supply of energy and passion to both the anchor desk and select field assignments. You will join a team of three other primary anchors (two gentlemen, one lady) and be paired as part of an ensemble weeknight anchor group. Key to success in this position is a demonstrated ability to own the desk, work exceptionally well with your co-anchor and crew and be ready to run out the door to pursue a great story at any time. The world of TV News is changing, so you must be well versed in all aspects of journalism, from online to working sources through social networking, and be ready for whatever else is about to happen next in our business. You need at least 6 years experience as a primary weeknight anchor. Our anchors here don't just sit at the main desk; you've got to be ready to move to a myriad of locations to deliver the news both in the studio and elsewhere. Reporter. FOX6 News is seeking the next great multi-media journalist to join our team. We're looking for an individual who has the passion to pursue stories long before the competition, strives to be the lead every night (both on-air and online) and communicates with compelling writing and on-air performance. Milwaukee is hyper-competitive! You have to want to win every day on the street! The world of TV News is changing, so the successful candidate for this position must be well-versed in all aspects of today's reporting landscape, from online to working sources, and be ready for whatever else is about to happen next in our business. You must be a reporter as eager to break stories on the web as well as on the 6 o'clock news. You need at least two years experience. Account Executive: Initiates local sales and service calls with direct accounts and ad agencies; focuses on developing new / incremental business with local direct businesses; 2+ years of sales with strong organizational skills and proficiency with Excel, Word and Power Point preferred. Experience selling broadcast, cable or web/internet is a plus. Candidates need to multi-task various activities and have proven experience doing so. Other duties as assigned.
